Many ideas are being considered in connection with The Richard T. Davis Foundation for Peace's efforts for an Iraq War Veteran Memorial. Included among the ideas are a water fountain or possibly a garden or sculpture. First choice for the memorial site is within the city of Columbus, Georgia mainly because of it's proximity to Ft. Benning but also because of knowledge that the Columbus community is very proud and supportive of Ft. Benning soldiers, not only during their triumphs but also through their hardships. Of course the type of memorial created and the success of delivering it's message and meaning is dependent in part on the amount of funds and effort donated.
